17.1 Introduction
In 2011, mobile video traffic exceeded 50% of mobile traffic for the first time, and
it is predicted to increase 25-fold in the next five years, according to Cisco Visual
Networking Index (VNI) [3]. Wireless video communications are facing a dilemma
in achieving efficiency and robustness. On the one hand, videos in their raw format
are huge in size, and they need to be efficiently compressed for transmission. On the
other hand, compressed video sequences have too little redundancy left, and therefore
are susceptible to channel errors.
