Synchronous generators are used in power plants. Its structure is similar to the asynchronous machine. The only difference is the number of synchronous turns, no slippage, and it is dependent on the mains frequency and the number of poles. The operating behavior of the generator is briefly explained for sinusoidal currents and voltages both on the fixed network and in isolated operation.
