Perhaps few events in life are consistently fun, but opening new (or new-to-you) tech devices can be exciting. Manufacturers know this, and the boxes containing new smartphones are designed to be cool-looking. Opening one is a fun occasion.
When I get the chance to open the package for a new phone (or another tech device), I set aside time, grab a cup of coffee (or something stronger), and relish the event. Others (like my husband) can’t wait to rip open the package and get their hands on the device.
If you purchase your phone from a carrier (AT&T or T-Mobile, for example), the carrier may offer to set it up for you. But how much can you learn by allowing that to happen? Let them do the basics, then ask questions and then bring it home to complete the setup. If you have a question that’s ...
