Applying the Color Map
Save your work before continuing with the next set of steps. You can pick up with the scene file SoldierTexture_v06.max from the Scenes folder of the Soldier project to check your work so far or to skip to this point.
Now it is time to use the map you put so much effort into:
1. Open the Slate. You should see the checker material you created for the soldier to help with the UVs. In the Material/Map Browser, choose the Materials rollout. On the Standard rollout, drag and drop a Standard material to the Active View area.
2. Double-click on the Diffuse Color input socket of the material to open the Material/Map Browser. In the Maps rollout, select the Standard rollout and click Bitmap. When the Select Bitmap Image File dialog ...
