It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

構成管理の基本的な管理項目は以下のとおりです。それぞれが独立した項目では
なく相互に関連しています。たとえば、設定管理はインベントリのどの項目に対し
てどのような設定がされているかを管理するわけですから、インベントリ管理と設
定管理は密接に関連しています。また変更管理やリリース管理はインベントリ管理
と設定管理の変更を管理するわけですから、これらも密接に関連しています。

インベントリ管理／資材管理：システムの構成要素の「何が」を軸に、どのよ
うな由来や属性のものかを管理する
•
設定管理：システムの構成要素の「どのような設定になっているか」を管理する
•
変更管理／リリース管理：システムの構成要素の「どのような変更があったか」
を管理する
