As part of his overhaul of the culture at Uber, incoming CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced the ride-sharing company has adopted 8 new “cultural norms,” replacing the 14 values first introduced by his predecessor, Travis Kalanick. Khosrowshahi said he wanted the norms to reflect the perspectives of Uber's employees, so he asked for and received more than 1,200 submissions that were voted on by employees more than 22,000 times until they settled on the final 8.
