The need for coffee to start the day as an HR practitioner is near universal. Yes, that's an exaggeration; however, in many countries, coffee is truly a way of life. Brazil is the world's largest producer of coffee, and as such there are more than 8 million people engaged in the processing of the crop from seed to cherry to drying to roasting and eventually to the consumer. Benefits such as paid rest, workers' compensation, and family leave are granted to the employees as a direct result of cooperative labor agreements.
