To further the understanding, final printed products can
be shown in relationship to the process book to help
illustrate how the ideas featured developed into fin-
ished solutions.
Robin Lynch, a design professor at the State
University of New York at Purchase, believes that
designers should always show process in their
portfolios, regardless of the potential employer’s
design training. She advises her students to carry
a sketch or process book with them at all times
so they can enlighten and engage prospective
