49. Email Black Holes
I was flying across the country on business. Before I left I made sure to email my business contact the flight information, as they were arranging to pick me up at the airport when I landed. I checked my email before getting on the plane to see if they had responded that my flight itinerary was received. No reply. Throughout my four-hour flight I wasted valuable time wondering and worrying as to whether someone would be at the airport to pick me up or not. A simple “Got your itinerary, Mike” reply back would have saved me a lot of wasted energy. My email had been lost in an “Email Black Hole,” and part of my trust in that contact got lost with it.
