Feature flags

Our overarching deployment philosophy is to decouple deployment from release. We are slicing the delivery of features into incremental experiments and testing user reaction to the new capabilities to validate their value proposition. To accomplish each slice, we are continuously deploying small incremental changes all the way into production. These small batch sizes significantly reduce the risk of each deployment and increase the speed at which teams can recover from any deployment failure by rolling forward. These deployments accumulate in production until the slice is completed and the experiment is released to a select group of users. A release is accomplished by flipping feature flags to make the new features accessible. ...
