I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Anti-pattern – Lift and Shift
Lift and Shift is a classic cloud migration approach. The approach is also known as a classic mistake, which has been tried over and over again with the same unsatisfactory results. Lift and Shift is essentially a lateral move where the system is moved out of the data center as-is and into the cloud. The architecture is unchanged and the development and operational practices of the architecture are transplanted as well. This may be a reasonable approach for the smallest of systems or as a temporary solution if there is a strong business reason driving you out of your data center.
