Performance and load-testing
The more observant among you might have noticed that there is little mention of performance or load-testing throughout this book. This is intentional as, in my mind, attempting this activity without the close collaboration, tooling, and techniques that come from adopting CD and DevOps is a fool's errand. Yes, there are many established and traditional approaches, but these normally amount to shoehorning something into the process just before you want to ship your code—which might well result in the code not shipping due to the fact that performance issues were found at the last minute.
