项目之所以会进入这一阶段,一个主要原因是它们不再是特定领域的市场领导者。这可能
是因为项目创新不足,项目的底层硬件假设发生了变化,或者代码库和项目的繁文缛节阻
碍了创新。
如果项目到达了这个阶段,并不一定意味着要开始寻找其他的解决方案——要知道,人们
现在还在使用大型计算机!关键是要了解项目是如何进入这个阶段的,并在市场上寻找能
够给未来应用场景带来价值或可以重新实现现有解决方案的项目。
另一个重要的考虑因素是这些解决方案对架构的重要性。一方面,如果项目处于架构的核
心,就需要仔细考虑在什么时候弃用它。另一方面,如果它起到的作用较小,那么过渡到
新的解决方案可能会更有意义。

开源项目的常见生命周期
在定义开源项目的主要阶段后,是时候讨论一些例外情况了。并非所有的开源项目都会遵
循之前描述的整个生命周期。关键是要理解为什么有些项目会遵循不同的路径,这会影响
对项目当前状态的理解。
在介绍例外情况之前,先来回顾一下开源项目的默认路径,如图
