A simplistic way of looking at the world of data is through the prism of structured data, unstructured repetitive data, and unstructured nonrepetitive data. In today’s world the vast majority of decisions are made on the basis of structured data, simply because it is easy to analyze. And when you look at unstructured repetitive data you find very little business value there. The preponderance of the business value is found on the unstructured nonrepetitive data side. There have been several attempts at contextualizing nonrepetitive data. One of those attempts was NLP. Another more modern approach is called textual disambiguation.
