When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 6. Stack Overflow
In 2008, the programming question market on the Internet was dominated by a company called Experts Exchange. Many were dissatisfied with the culture on the site and the requirement that people had to be registered to view answers. Programmers Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky launched the "question and answer" site, Stack Overflow. Since then, the site has, taken off, quickly growing to become one of the top 100 sites on the Internet. Users can ask and answer questions on the site about a wide variety of programming topics. Answering a question well or asking a well thought-out question wins reputation points, which are prominently displayed.
