Of the major social networking sites, Google+ is the newest entrant. Although an upstart, it does have a large user base claiming to have more than 350 million active accounts (http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/05/02/report-google-bigger-than-twitter-with-359-million-active-users). This is not Google's first attempt at breaking into the billion-dollar social media market. They have, in the past, created Google Buzz, Google Friend Connect, and Orkut in an attempt to gain a large user base. All but Orkut have since been mothballed and its user base is almost entirely located in Brazil.
