  • Although data security in a data warehouse environment is similar to security in OLTP systems, providing access privileges is more involved because of the nature of data access inthe warehouse.

  • Why back up the data warehouse? Even though there are hardly any direct data updates in the data warehouse, there are several reasons for backing up. Scheduling backups is more difficult and recovery procedures are also more difficult because of the data volume in the warehouse.
