  1. Set up a procedure for gathering statistics from the data warehouse following the deployment. List all the types of statistics to be gathered. Indicate how each type of statistics will be used for the ongoing support and improvements.

  2. You are specifically assigned to improve the query performance in your data warehouse, deployed about six months ago. How will you plan for the assignment? What are the types of statistics you would need? Create a detailed plan.

  3. You are hired as the new training administrator for the data warehouse in a nationwide automobile dealership. The data warehouse is Web-enabled. The analysts in the headquarters work with the OLAP system based on the MOLAP model. Establish an improved ongoing training program. Describe the highlights of the program.

  4. Review the user support structure illustrated in Figure 20-5. Is this support structure adequate for a Web-enabled data warehouse with about 250 internal users and 150 outside business partners accessing the data warehouse? About 20 full-time analysts use the OLAP system for complex analysis and studies. What improvements would you want to make to the support structure? Indicate the highlights.

  5. As the Manager for the data warehouse project, write a project completion report to your CIO and the executive project sponsor. List the major activities completed.
