SQL has a variety of functions that operate on single rows of the database, unlike aggregate functions that operate on columns. Numeric functions include ROUND, TRUNC, LN, POWER, SQRT, CEIL, FLOOR, LOG, EXP, and MOD. Trigonometric functions include COS, SIN, TAN, ACOS, ASIN, ATAN, COSH, SINH, and TANH. Character single-row functions include CONCAT, LTRIM, LOWER, LENGTH, INSTR, UPPER, INITCAP, LPAD, REPLACE, RTRIM, RPAD, SUBSTR, TRANSLATE, ASCII, REGEXP_COUNT, REGEXP, and others.
