Data analytics, a component of data science, is the process of examining data to garner information and gain insights from large collections of data. The quality of the results depends on the quality of the data itself as well as the quality and suitability of the methods used to examine the data. A data warehouse presents an ideal environment for data analytics because the quality of the data is assured by the ETL system. Data lakes and big data stores can also be used, but care must be exercised to ensure the quality of data in those environments prior to using analytical tools.
