For subsidiaries that are well established within their parent’s network the routes to be followed in socialising and seeking support for a strategy may already appear clear. However, some caution is advised as relationships that have worked well on operational matters may not be sufficient sources of support for more ambitious agendas. While leveraging existing relationships to secure broader support will be a worthwhile tactic, it is important to think more deeply than this so that existing sources of support can be directed to where they can be of most help, and so that the need for additional allies can be analysed with a view to nurturing their support.
