INTRODUCTION
The ideas and inspiration for this picture came to me very naturally. I’ve always had great admiration for the costumes and paintings from the Napoleonic period, with the rich materials they were using, the intricate details of their costumes and accessories, and the obsession to reproduce natural lighting in their portraits. Art history has been an important part of my school background and is always a major source of reference in my work.
