So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

7.4 Intelligence of Digital Storage in Consumer Electronics
The capabilities built into storage devices such as hard disk drives and fl ash memory
have been increasing. This is because semiconductor line-widths have declined allowing
more electronic functions on a given chip. As a consequence, more functions are built
into and enabled by the fi rmware in a digital storage device. As an example, the T13
committee ATA specifi cation for hard disk drives now includes commands that enable
multiple video and other richer streaming content so that recording, sharing, and playing
of content can go on simultaneously.
