10MBps data (1.25MBps) is required to support home data transfer requirements, the
T-100 network could only handle at most one HDTV video data stream. The network
could handle this general data traffi c and seven DVD quality video streams. Many
DVR/PVR suppliers can handle up to seven simultaneous video streams and as
mentioned in Chapter 5 they are being designed for up to 16 simultaneous data
streams.
A Gigabit Ethernet network would allow roughly 100MBps after overhead, while the
Multimedia over Cable (MoCA) coaxial networking scheme allows at least 34MBps
