Introduction
Message-driven beans (MDB) are an exciting new feature of the EJB 2.0 specification. They open up a whole new realm of application architectural and integration alternatives not previously available in J2EE. This chapter describes the concepts and structure of message-driven beans and MDB development, and introduces some new integration patterns and best practices when you are considering utilizing MDBs in your design.
