I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Introduction
This chapter focuses on how to create services in Dynamics 365 for Operations, and how to consume them in external applications. This does not include OData services, which was covered in the previous chapter.
The method in which services are created hasn't changed significantly from Dynamics AX 2012 (the prior release to Dynamics 365 for Operations). The key difference is that web methods don't need to be marked as an entry point.
The consumption of Dynamics 365 for Operations' services has changed considerably. This means that any current integration from external apps will need changes to the method of authentication and how the input contracts are created.
