So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
The process is done in three parts:
- Writing the class that registers our EDT in the number sequence framework
- Updating the parameter form to allow us to maintain the number sequences
- Hooking up the form so that it uses the number sequence.
The number sequence framework is not just a way to get a new number in a prescribed format. It also automatically handles what happens should the record not be saved, and what should happen if we delete a record.
