1.6 Internal and External Players

What is the relationship of the finance manager to the other functions, officers, and employees of a company? In other words, how does the finance manager interact with the other players in the company? An organizational chart, like the one depicted in Figure 1.2, will help outline the functions and players.

Figure 1.2 shows one example of a company’s organization. The functions depicted include marketing, finance, manufacturing, information systems, and human resources.
