I originally talked to Pia when she was editing The Escapist for Gillies MacKinnon, with whom she worked six times, including Regeneration, Hideous Kinky, and Pure. We met in her edit suite at De Lane Lea in London’s Soho. The update in 2017 was recorded in her edit suite on The Crown.

RC: So Pia where were you born and what did your parents do?

PDC: I was born in Toronto to Italian parents. My father was a dental technician and my mother was a homemaker who raised five daughters. My mother loves all kinds of entertainment: theatre and dance so she often brought us to Operas and the cinema. My mother is very vivacious so music was a big part of our childhood and she would often break out into a tango, salsa or the Twist.
