So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Dario is an Academy Award-winning composer for Atonement (2007), directed by Joe Wright, with whom he has worked a number of times. This frank and full conversation took place in his house in North London. In particular, it was interesting to explore the relationship between scoring and editing.
RC: Tell me about your background and family.
DM: I was born in Pisa, Italy. My parents were—and are—classical music lovers. There was never an artistic background for them, as they were growing up, but somehow they developed a great love for music and art in general. ...
