The Game Boy Printer, also known as the Pocket Printer, is a small portable printer released in 1998. It prints images in four shades of gray on thermal paper. It’s compatible with both the DMG and the CGB and leverages serial communication to exchange data.
This chapter introduces the hardware and the protocol used to communicate with the printer. It assumes you’re already familiar with serial communication, covered in Chapter 11.
