The United Kingdom Listing Authority (UKLA) is responsible for approval of the prospectuses and admission of companies to the Official List. It is a division of the main financial markets regulator the Financial Conduct Authority. In addition the London Stock Exchange (LSE) has to admit companies to its Main Market. Thus a floating company has to go through two parallel processes to gain (i) a ‘listing’ with the UKLA and (ii) admission to trading on the MM.
