It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

MEMBERS
This appendix gives a listing of five representative entries from the MEMBER database. While the database does not include all 435 members of Congress, we have tried to include a broad spectrum of representatives. We chose to enter the senior member from each state, both to get a geographic distribution and to insure that the member would have sufficient years in Congress to establish a significant voting record on which to base decisions. In addition to the 50 senior members, we have included various other prominent members of Congress, past and present.
The listing below does not include the objective voting-record data, but rather focuses on the credo and relations fields, which reflect more subjective coding decisions. ...
