It is possible to buy virtually everything online starting initially with CDs, DVDs, books, games,
holidays, but more recently alsohouses, cars, jewelry, art, etc. are bought online. This development
holds a positive and a negative contribution to SD. If the logistics are handled in an efficient way,
it can result in reduced energy consumption and reduced emissions, when compared to the case
in which a consumer would drive to a book shop or a music store to buy the product.
