Reduction of energy use plays an important role in sustainability approaches. To achieve innova-
tions for energy use in ICT expertise needs to be shared, knowledge has to be increased, and fitting
solutions have to be found and implemented. The capability of the organization to learn from the
many search and adaptation processes is decisive for the success of innovation (Rosenberg, 1982).
Formal disciplinary training programs, important to maintain and improve standardized proce-
dures, are less suitable to connecting learning in innovation trajectories to everyday tasks within
