One of the distinctive features of deep learning, compared to other branches of AI, is the ability to exploit general-purpose algorithms, by leveraging neural networks. In this way, it is possible to face similar problems that entail several different application domains, by reusing common algorithms elaborated in different contexts.
The deep learning approach exploits the possibility of neural networks (NNs) to add multiple processing layers, each layer having the task of executing different types of processing, sharing the results of the processing with the other layers.
