I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Intrusion Detection Systems
Traditionally, intrusion detection activity has been managed through the introduction of specialized devices, known as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). These devices were usually divided into the following two categories:
- Host-based IDS
- Network-based IDS
With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in the field of cybersecurity, a third type of IDS has also been added to the aforementioned two traditional types: anomaly-driven IDS.
To fully understand the differences and advantages of anomaly-driven IDS, it is appropriate to briefly describe the two traditional types of IDS.
