We will be testing very small fragments of code for correctness. On the one hand, this is simply because each fragment illustrates a specific concept or idea. On the other hand, even in a large-scale software system, resource management is done by small building blocks of code. They may combine to form a quite complex resource manager, but each block performs a specific function and is testable. The appropriate testing system for this situation is a unit testing framework.
