Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) is the successor of the WPA encryption standard for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. This standard uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which is superior to the RC4 encryption cipher suite. AES provides a stronger encryption of datagram blocks to ensure data confidentiality. Furthermore, WPA2 applies the Counter Mode with Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code Protocol (CCMP), which is superior to TKIP. CCMP handles data encryption by using a 128-bit key to provide confidentiality together with AES, which creates 128-bit data blocks.
