Transformation

The final leadership discipline, transformation, focuses on how leaders can successfully pursue systemic change. Unlike the process and quality improvement approaches described in chapter 7, transformation is not about tweaking existing processes; it is about fundamental redesign. If incremental changes will do, then quality improvement approaches should be used. But if it is clear that current approaches to things will not be successful in the future, then bigger changes are called for.
