Multiple SSIDs
One of the most exciting features of several high-end APs is the ability to support multiple SSIDs. By having each SSID point to a unique VLAN, you can create some very flexible security profiles. For example, a public SSID can map to a VLAN with one set of security rules, while a private SSID can map to a different VLAN with a very different set of security rules.
This also significantly improves your ability to perform frequency management. In the past, if you wanted to isolate wireless networks on to separate wired networks, you had to have a separate AP for each physical network.
