Conclusion

I hope that you have enjoyed this book. I challenge you to really think about how to use the tools to improve what it is that you want for yourself. Go back through the parts that meant something to you and highlight them. We all need reminders to help us get what we want.

Here is a summary of the tools that you now have on your tool belt. You can pull them out whenever they are appropriate:

  1. Breaking down the e-wall
  2. The butterfly
  3. The sunset
  4. Act as if
  5. FOR
  6. Positive, positive, positive — negative
  7. The colours

In the appendix I have included a summary of the quick questions from the end of each chapter to serve as a reminder of how you are tracking. Review them often and think about how you can apply the different tools of influence in what you do on a day-to-day basis.

Working with people is such a thrill. It gives me a tremendous amount of pleasure to watch people increase their level of success, both personally and professionally, by putting these tools into place. I hope that you will pick your favourites and put them into action. To paraphrase Dr Adam Fraser in the foreword of this book, ‘We don’t have an information problem, we have an implementation problem.’ Take action and implement!
