Summary

In this chapter, we have learned the concepts of business continuity and disaster recovery planning that encompass two separate but related disciplines:

• Business continuity planning: Ensures that organizations effectively understand what business processes and information are important to them and what is required to ensure continued operations and success of the organization
• Disaster recovery planning: Develop the technical solutions that support the business needs of the organization in the event of a system outage

We also learned:

• What the scope and focus areas are of the BCDR plan
• How to design, implement, test, and maintain a BCDR plan
