So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Designing the BCDR plan
The BCDR plan is an essential part of your organization's risk management strategy. This is where we take the information learned from the earlier part of this chapter and put it into practice.
As part of designing our BCDR plan, we will:
- Gather business requirements through the use of a BIA
- Define technical disaster recovery mechanisms
- Develop plan components that include:
- Establishment of recovery teams
- Establishment of relocation plans
- Development of technical procedures to support recovery
- BCDR testing and continuous improvement mechanisms
