I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The ideal manager is one who has drive and ambition without too much ego. As Alan Bishop, at COI, acknowledges, ‘These are contradictory qualities, so, if you find these special people, treasure them.’ He is right, it is a rare combination, but an ideal one for a manager. Drive and ambition keep you striving for strong results and appropriate levels of ego mean that you won’t buy into your own publicity and think you have done it all on your own.
