It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In the end, security is a balancing act; you need to balance cost, risk, and usability. It costs time and money to make a system more secure. A secure system protects something valuable; the more valuable it is, the more you should spend on security. And in general, more secure systems are less usable.
