The croutons were blackened crisps.

During finals week in fall 2011, George Washington University student Audrey Scagnelli and friends accidentally burnt the croutons they were toasting in a campus apartment oven. She describes the scene that followed as truly “one of those this-only-happens-in-the-movies kind of moments.”
