How it works...
In steps 1 and 2, we create the Nova database and user in MariaDB. In step 3, we create the service and endpoints that we can use to send API calls to.
In steps 4 and 5, we install the packages for the Nova services and proceed to create a simple configuration file.
We create the database table schemas in step 6 and start the Nova services in step 7.
For this example deployment, we are using a single node to run all of the OpenStack services we are interested in. However, you can use a second node just for the nova-compute service that will provision the KVM virtual machines.
