So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
In step 1, we connect to the KVM instance using the console and create an empty file. We are going to use the file to track changes on the virtual machine. In step 2, we create an internal snapshot and obtain more information about it in step 3. In step 4, we connect to the KVM guest again and delete the file. In step 5, we restore from the snapshot, confirming that the state of the instance has been indeed reverted to before the snapshot, as shown by the presence of the original file we created earlier.
