
YouTube simply wasn’t on my radar when I
started blogging 10 years ago. All the people
I liked and followed were bloggers. I didn’t
watch YouTube videos to understand how to
do something (my dad did, though). Instead,
I scoured forums for people in trades and
subscribed to bloggers recapping their projects.
I preferred tutorials in their written form to digest
at my leisure and repeatedly reference. As a
result I began my blog by writing to someone just
like me, and tried to give them what I came to
blogs for (often reading from work, where I didn’t
want to get caught watching a video!).
